What is a babymoon?

The expression babymoon was coined in the early 1990s by pregnancy and childbirth author Sheila Kitzinger, who described it as a calm, uninterrupted period of time needed by parents after the birth of a baby so that they could spend time bonding with their new arrival. Babymoons are now trendy as a last gasp at coupledom, a small romantic interlude, the final hurrah before the baby arrives.

There is nothing you could enjoy more than relax and be pampered, and you deserve it!  After all, your body has pretty much been taken over, and life is about to get a whole lot more hectic.

South of France, natural Provence, seaside French Riviera are amazing destinations for couple and family, as for in-betweens. Of course, you won’t be able to run the seaside or climb the mountains. But, there are many beautiful places to visit, where to have a romantic and relaxing time. Parenting is exhausting. It’s wonderful but tiring. Get as much extra rest and relaxation before the baby arrives.

If you love nature, Provence is the perfect retreat plan. During spring, lavender season or falls, it is magic. Avoid Provence during July and August as the temperature can reach 45 °C (113°F)

Babymoon vacations best time depends on your pregnancy. They are typically taken in the second trimester – after you’ve had the 12-week scan, and before it becomes inadvisable to fly.
Provence and French Riviera have fantastic weather all year long. If you are flying from northern Europe or the USA, you will be able to enjoy lunch by the beach even in mid-January. As much as I love studio maternity session, there is nothing like a “destination maternity session”, being in a stunning place and creating memories for you and your baby. Moreover, you will be able to show her/him how much you were in love and looking forward to meeting him.
