When is the best time for a pre-wedding photoshoot in the South of France?
One of the most frequent questions that we get the most is “what is the best time for a photo session on the French Riviera or Provence? ”
First, the best time for a photo session is when you have the best lights. the nicest and most flattering lights are at sunrise and sunset. Those time vary depending on the season (day are longer in summer).
“Best time for a photo session is when you have the best lights: sunset and sunrise”
In the main touristic areas, having your pictures at sunrise also had a tremendous advantage: you avoid the crowd. It can be difficult to wake up early, but having all the beach for yourself, or an empty lavender fields, worth it 100%.
We do have fantastic weather on the French Riviera all year long, but my favorite times of the year are Spring and Falls (north hemisphere). If you want a session in the lavender fields, lavender blossom season is between late June and mid-July.
