Hot endless road, red rocks, and tall cactus. Fly to Nevada desert, around Las Vegas for this adventurous wedding anniversary session. Travel to the crazy city and the magical nature around it.
I have been photographing Cathy and Christophe family memories for a few years, from their wedding on the French Riviera to their Post-Wedding-Honeymoon photo session in the Caribbean (https://wildroses.fr/st-martin-honeymoon-photo-session-caribbean-weddings/). It is always a fun moment, an amazing place I discover with them. They are both amazing people and we do laugh a LOT.
Las Vegas surprise birthday and Wedding Anniversary
This time, Chris wanted to surprise her for her birthday and their wedding anniversary. We have been planning together -secretly- the travel, the reveal everything to make her enjoy the perfect birthday and stay in Vegas. He booked her a suite at the hotel Bellagio with a view on the pool, a classical convertible mustang and amazing shows in Vegas. The reveal after a show was really fun, she was expecting it at all, but at the same time, knew what we were willing to do for her birthday.
Amazing Nevada Desert landscapes Photo session
Chris and Cathy were more willing to discover crazy Nevada’s landscapes, around Las Vegas, than Vegas itself. So after a quick tour of the city, we head to the car rental. Once we had the Mustang, we drove from Vegas to Hoover Dam, in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. You can feel the history in the details of this construction, the immense scale of the dam is really one of the kind. On our way back, we stop at the lake created by the damn. The view on the valley is breathtaking! We also had fun with the car and played with the sunset light. The next day, a new destination, we drove to another natural spot, the Red Road Canyon park. You need a special authorization to do pictures in the park, so we found a place close by with the same color red rocks.
Those 48 hours went so quickly, we have been discovering beautiful places in the US. I feel so lucky to have been able to document a fun and lovely couple with the majesty of nature as a backdrop. The next trip should be a winter family session in New York. I can’t wait to discover NYC under the snow, share and document amazing memories of their family.
